New Horizons

Manages a range of resource and outreach centres throughout Rhondda Cynon Taff for people experiencing mental health or emotional wellbeing issues.

New Horizons projects the positive image of people suffering mental health problems through challenging discrimination by means of education, outreach work, information and support services.

New service delivery
As from April 2012 there were important changes to our service delivery, New Horizons is now offering its' service users an opportunity to develop their own Recovery Plan with appropriate support. The Recovery Plan helps our members to monitor their progress, target areas for development and to maintain an active control of their lives. It also helps us to monitor our progress and to keep us at the cusp of excellence in providing quality support for our members. The Plans also include details of what services our members can expect from New Horizons and partner agencies and any gaps in services.

Mental Health

1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems at some time in their life. The stigma attached to mental health issues adds to injury.

During the journey to recover people may need support as they can become isolated and their confidence shattered.

Thank you for your support

New Horizons would like to say a big thank you to all the donors.  Every penny we receive makes a real difference to the lives of people affected by mental health.

Unlike other mental health charities, New Horizons receives no financial support from the Welsh Assembly, and very few donations from supporters.  This means we have to spend a significant amount of our time raising the money just to be here.
