Mental Health First Aid Courses at New Horizons
New Horizons are offering the Mental Health first aid course to any organizations to raise awareness within their workforce or client base.
The course is aimed at making people more understanding of people with mental health issues and allows them to recognize symptoms of developing illness.
It also helps build the confidence to be able to help someone in crisis.
We recently held the twelve hour course and we are please that we had people attending from a variety of fields or work - Two police Women, a Councilor, someone from Citizens Advice Bureau and Independent Living services as well as a volunteer’s from the Mental Health Sector.
It was a simulating two days and everyone went away with a lot to think about.
